New Event!  "Miss Rosa" - National PBS KIDS Host

Miss Rosa
Every morning on PBS stations nationwide, a diverse mix of children participate in a learning adventure led by a friendly and entertaining host: Miss Rosa. Together, they explore different themes such as Counting, Safety, Transportation and Weather. The children sing and dance to live music, participate in activities, learn Spanish words and have lots of fun! All of this takes place in a visually stimulating, creative and high-tech environment. Who wouldn’t want to go to this preschool?

Miss Rosa is a popular, well-respected teacher of Costa Rican and Puerto Rican descent. She is bilingual; speaking flawless English and Spanish. She is bright, enthusiastic and enlightens children while entertaining them. During mornings on PBS KIDS, Miss Rosa guides preschoolers through curriculum-based activities and introduces Spanish words and phrases related to the theme of the day. She is energetic, warm and nurturing, and consistently finds ways to build children's self-esteem.

"From the moment 'Miss Rosa' stepped on stage at the Mall at Stonecrest, she delivered a magical PBS KIDS Family performance for the entire family to enjoy.  I highly encourage you to book 'Miss Rosa' for your next event and don't forget a meet and greet with Sid the Science Kid and Super Why! for extra fun." D. Bieler, The Mall at Stonecrest, GA

“I can’t say enough positive things about "Miss Rosa'!  She was an absolute pleasure to work with on this effort.  Very flexible, courteous, accommodating, etc.!!  Children really enjoyed her performance and she was extremely gracious with her time to meet EVERY child with hugs, high-fives, autographs and photos.  A class act!  Worth every penny!”  G. “It was a absolute success! Great Show—Great Crowds—Great Response! I can’t think of one event I’ve scheduled that met as many of my objectives as this one did. I felt it struck a very human chord not only with the children and parents (1000 to 2000 per show!) but also with the shoppers who discovered the show at staff here at Fairlane. It was like giving a wonderful Christmas present to thousands of people!” FAIRLANE TOWN CENTER., MI

The Story Pirates

Striking Viking Story Pirates
The Story Pirates know that every child has some kind of story to tell. While many children's theater troops tell stories to children, this New York City arts education organization uses stories written by elementary school students as source material for outrageous, over-the-top, side-splitting musical plays.  Adding songs, props, music videos, and puppets, the Story Pirates bring what children scribble down on paper to life on the stage. At a typical Story Pirates show, story topics run the gamut, from kung-fu ninja babies fighting crime, to the eternal love between the devil and a guy she meets at Starbucks.  It's a world where cats sometimes fly and tickle monsters have been known to take over the world.  Story Pirates present award-winning shows, original web content, and creative writing programs to tens of thousands of children nationwide each year. The cornerstone of the Story Pirates educational program is the Play/Write Program that combines in-class creative writing and literacy workshops for children in kindergarten through eighth grade, with a sketch show for the entire school. These young authors see their stories come to life on stage and are later recognized by the Pirates and their school after the show. By showing children that their words and ideas are important, the Story Pirates have blown the minds of over 400,000 children.

"The Kennedy Center Loves Story Pirates!!!" Diana Ezerins, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

“What we love about the Story Pirates is that it's not only theater; it really engages kids in writing and literacy, creating a vivid connection between arts and learning. It's a full circle program.”  Debra Pasquarette, The Geffen Playhouse

"The Story Pirates teach kids a love of creative writing.  It helps kids to see that their words and ideas are really important.  I believe that what the Story Pirates are doing is helping America, nay, humanity—helping humanity itself.  It's crazy entertaining."JON STEWART - THE DAILY SHOW

"ONLY a kid could write a story like "The Do-Do Bird and the Dead People" - but only the Striking Viking Story Pirates could stage it, complete with puppets, "Thriller"-esque dancing zombies and funny lyrics that have children (and adults) begging for more." NEW YORK POST

New Event!  Chris Sullivan  "Shock" from THE ELECTRIC COMPANY (PBS)

Chris Sullivan
"Something from Nothing" with Shock from The Electric Company

Bark like a dog; make music like a trumpet and beatbox like a drumset! Kids of all ages will have an "Electric" time making music on the spot and going on spontaneous adventures with Shock as he teaches the basics to making music, sound effects and telling stories from the power of imagination. Together they will create a whole world from nothing while learning some basic phonics and reading skills and who knows... parents may even learn a thing or two!

“Shock” is a contemporary Buster Keaton with a wide-open sweetness and a relentless imagination. “Shock” works in the Electric Diner and occasionally helps in the decoding of words there. He does so without skipping a beat, in fact as a vocal percussionist, he provides the beat. He does not directly participate in solving the problems of the Electric Company, but when we see him out in the neighborhood, his presence will often have accidental positive or negative effects. But positive or negative he is a reliable device in comic relief. In the interstitials, his freestanding segments help drive home the curriculum of the show.
